Zahlreiche Institutionen, Museen und Vereine aus dem ganzen Land beteiligen sich mit Ausstellungen, Präsentationen und Veranstaltungen. An den Universitäten Greifswald und Rostock findet eine gemeinsame Ringvorlesung über den Einfluss von Mobilität auf das Land und die jeweilige Gesellschaft statt. Den Höhepunkt bildet im September die wissenschaftliche Konferenz „Eingewanderte und Dagebliebene, Durchgezogene und Abgewanderte. Mecklenburg und (Vor-)Pommern unter dem Einfluss wechselvoller Mobilitäten“ in Güstrow. Eröffnet wird das Themenjahr am 24. Januar 2025 in Neubrandenburg.
